ENDNOTE 21 -
Available free to all staff!
(Download directly from the CCH software center, call IS to update.)

Tips and Tricks! - Automatically Find Full Text
Endnote can automatically find full text .pdfs from Pratt Library and UC Library resources and download them into endnote. See the instructions below for adding and running this function in Endnote 21.

Setup:

  • Install and update Endnote 21
  • Go to Edit, Preferences, and then Find Full Text and add the following url to the "Open url Path"
  • Select your citations by highlighting them.

Authenticate and Run Search:

  • Click References and then Find Full text.
  • Then Click Authenticate.
    • This leads to UC Affiliates log in.
    • Use your badge and last-name to login.
  • Click Find Full Text and run the search.
  • Found full text .pdfs will attach to the relevant citation with an icon of a paperclip.
  • Find your articles attached in the window at top right.
  • You should not expect all articles to be found. Due to many factors, some articles are not directly accessible from publishers.

Why use citation software?
Insert in-text citations from your library with the Cite While You Write feature in Microsoft® Word.
Automatically build your bibliography using the library of 7,000+ output styles or your own customized style.

Search hundreds of online resources for references and PDFs.

Access full text research articles with one click.
And much more!
Please contact the Pratt Library for support at any time. Register and join Pratt librarians for training classes on Endnote, research and searching, and more via the Cincinnati Children's Learning site on Centerlink!
