Need access to psychological and mental health research resources? The Pratt Library provides several excellent options.

PsycInfo and PsycNET from the American Psychological Association (APA)

Available from the University of Cincinnati Libraries for all Cincinnati Children’s employees, APA PsycINFO and PsycNET focus on behavioral and social sciences research. PsycNET provides psychological measurement tools in the fields of psychology, medicine, nursing, public health, social work, communication, sociology, and organizational behavior/human resources.

To search these databases:

  1. Select Databases from the Resources-Catalog dropdown menu on the left side of the Pratt Library website (https://prattlibrary.cchmc.org/home)

  2. Scroll to APA PsycNet or PsycInfo and select the database you wish to search.

  1. At the UC Libraries - Proxy Login page, select the Affiliates tab and enter your Cincinnati Children’s employee ID number and your last name (lowercase only).

  2. To retrieve full-text, select the UC Article Linker icon.

EBSCO Psychology and Behavior Collection

The EBSCO Psychology and Behavior Collection includes over 300 journals for psychologists, counselors, researchers, and students researching child and adolescent psychology and counseling.  The full list of journals is available here

To search this collection and others provided by EBSCO:

  1. Type your search into the keyword search box on the Pratt Library homepage.

  1. Narrow and refine your search by selecting Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals, Source Types, etc. on the left-hand limit box.

Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI) Database

Available through our affiliate access with the University of Cincinnati Libraries, HaPI provides information about measurement tools in disciplines including psychology, medicine, nursing, public health, social work, communication, sociology, and organizational behavior/human resources. It is developed by Behavioral Database Measurement Services (BMDS) and searchable through the EBSCO search interface. To access this resource, follow the instructions provided above for PsycInfo or APA PsycNet and search for HaPI.
