PMC announces update to supplementary data policy

PMC-82x41.jpgPubMed Central (PMC) has just released an important update to the PMC policy statement on supplementary data in response to growing interest in data associated with funded manuscripts in PMC. These directions more clearly articulate the requirements of supplementary data (images, tables, video, or other documents / files) associated with a PMC manuscript. As of October 2017 NIH Manuscript Submission (NIHMS) will also accept small datasets (2 GB or smaller) along with deposits of funded author manuscripts to be included in PMC. Go to http://bit.ly/2m8YY95 for more information in NIHMS. Search tip: Use the search filter “has suppdata[filter to find publications with associated supplementary data files in PMC.

PMC is also asking the research community to send any suggestions for future data directions in PMC to pubmedcentral@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
